Durgadas Rathore is known for his loyalty and brave nature. He was a great commander of his time. He set example of loyalty by saving life of his king from Mugal and fighting for motherland till last day of life.

He was son of Rao Maldev and first king of Marwar state who refused to surrender to Akbar. He quit Jodhpur and decide to live on mountains and keep fighting with Akbar till his last drop of blood. Maharana Pratap took the same path after 10 years by his inspiration.All over India Rao Chandrasen and Maharana Pratap were only king who did not surrendered to Akbar and neither let Mugals to mark their horses with Mugal symbol.
According to Akbarnama at the time of Akbar’s attack on Chitor, Maharana Uday Singh left the fort of Chitor on responsibility of Rathore Jaimal. Till he was alive and fighting, Mugals could not manage to get the fort.
At the time of Akbar’s attack on Merta, Devidas Rathore (Jaitawat) with his 400 Rajput men fought with Mugal commander Rustam at the gate of fort. In this war Rustam and his army killed by Devidas Rathore and his army.
People of Marwar worship Rathore Pabu for saving life of cows even when he was getting married. When he came to know about robbers who were trying to get cows, he quit his marriage ceremony and went to fight with robbers. Like him his cousin Rathore Jhareda worshiped for saving life of person who come to ask for help.
Rao Maldev was son of Rao Ganga. He helped Rana Vikramaditya of Mewar in 1532 when sultan of Gujrat Bahadurshah attacked on Mewar.According to Tuzuk Zanhagiri, Rao Maldev was very wealthy and most powerful king of his time. In his army 80,000 fighters were under his flag.
